The UNLV volleyball season will feature a team that is hungry for a championship, our trademark top-ranked defense and a quick and middle-dominated offense.

Seniors Lauren Miramontes, Maria Aladjova, Jada Walker and Brittani Lumsden have been the backbone of this team since I arrived and driven to crown their career with a trip to the NCAA tournament. The entire returning team (seniors plus Melody Nua, Erin Greenwood, Gerryn Moran, Camille Cunningham, Jessica Walters, Samantha Noland) made a commitment to stay and train in Las Vegas over the summer and their investment has allowed them to play physical and train at a high level of intensity.

Our freshman class of eight reported ready to play and show the athleticism and experience that will allow them to contribute immediately. During the preseason, the team demonstrated great competitive energy and a willingness to make changes in their game each day.

For the first time, we have a lot of versatility and depth that will add some unexpected and pleasant surprises when we most need them.
