LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball will host instate rival Nevada, Reno, ensuring that the rivalry will continue and also completing the Rebels' 2009 slate.
The Rebels and Wolf Pack will play at Earl E. Wilson Stadium on March 18, with the first pitch set for 7:00 p.m. (PT). It is part of 34 home games for UNLV this season, which includes four doubleheaders.
"With the parameters of the start date and its effects on some conference's schedules, Coach Powers and I have been working hard to find dates that work to play each other," UNLV head coach Buddy Gouldsmith said. "I am pleased that we were able to find a date that worked for the both of us. We will travel to Nevada, Reno next year and renew our weekend series in 2011."
UNLV opens up its season at home against Maine on Feb. 20, part of a 17-day homestand to begin campaign that will have the Rebels playing 14 games over that span.
