UNLV Holds Food Drive

Nov. 13, 2008

LAS VEGAS - Fans attending the UNLV men's basketball team's season opener on Saturday, Nov. 15 are encouraged to bring a canned food donation. The game against San Diego, which begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center is part of a UNLV Athletics food drive in conjunction with Three Square, which is an organization that was established to end hunger in the valley by providing wholesome, nutritious food to non-profit organizations that serve a wide range of Southern Nevadans in need.

UNLV's football game Thursday, Nov. 13, against Wyoming at 6 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium kicks off the food drive. Fans that bring two canned food items to the game will be admitted for just $5 (adults) and kids 16 and under will be admitted free (with the donation).

The drive continues on Friday, Nov. 14, as the women's basketball team hosts Sacramento State at 7 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion in head coach Kathy Oliver's first game leading the Lady Rebels. Fans who bring two canned food items to the game will be admitted for $1.
