LAS VEGAS - Single-game tickets for the 2008-09 UNLV Lady Rebels' basketball season are on sale now, the athletics department has announced.
The 2008-09 season begins "A New Era" for the UNLV women's basketball program, as former Lady Rebel All-American Kathy Olivier has returned to her alma mater as head coach and is ready to bring the team back to national prominence.
Tickets to all 18 home games (17 games in the Cox Pavilion, one game in the Thomas & Mack Center) are available for purchase on a game-by-game basis online at UNLVtickets.com, by calling 702-739-FANS (3267) or at the Thomas & Mack Center ticket office.
The Lady Rebels will begin the 2008-09 season with a five-game homestand, which includes a contest against in-state rival Nevada, Reno on Friday, Nov. 21, as well as two games in the Lady Rebel Round-Up, a Thanksgiving tournament featuring Georgia, Cal State Fullerton, and Eastern Washington on Nov. 28-29.
Other highlights of the home schedule include UNLV's Christmas tournament, The Desert Draw at UNLV, which will see preseason No. 14 Oklahoma State, Conference USA preseason favorite Southern Miss, and Cal State Northridge come to the Cox Pavilion on Dec. 19-20. Fresno State, a 2008 NCAA Participant, comes to the Cox on Jan. 2, while UNLV begins its Mountain West Conference schedule on Jan. 10 against TCU.
Single-game tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors, while kids 12 and under are free. Groups tickets (for groups of 20 or more) are available for $4.
Listed below are just some of the ticket promotions throughout the year:
- All tickets for the season opener on Nov. 14 against Sacramento State are just $1, as "A New Era Begins NOW!" for the Lady Rebels. The game is also part of the Rebel Reunion for UNLV, with all former Lady Rebel alumni invited back to attend.
- Nov. 18 is "Double the Fun Game", as fans will be able to redeem their ticket for a balcony ticket to watch the Runnin' Rebels, as part of a doubleheader in the Thomas & Mack Center
- Nov. 21 is "RED OUT NIGHT", all fans who wear red will get in for $2 as the Lady Rebels take on Nevada, Reno
- Feb. 18 is "Pink Zone Game - presented by the UNLV Women's Center". All fans are asked to Pack the Pavilion against Wyoming, and all tickets are just $1.
- Feb. 25 is "Family Night", with 2 for 1 tickets for the UNLV-Utah contest.
