LAS VEGAS - UNLV ISP Sports & Entertainment Properties will produce and televise two men's basketball games this season, the athletics department announced Monday.
This Wednesday's game at Fresno State (Dec. 3), will be shown live in Las Vegas at 7 p.m. on Las Vegas One (Cox Cable channel 19), while the Sunday, Dec. 14 game against Western Michigan at The Orleans Arena will be shown live at 4 p.m. on KLAS channel 8.
Handling the play-by-play duties on these broadcasts will be Tim Neverett. Neverett is a veteran sportscaster who currently works for The Mtn., hosting studio shows and doing play-by-play work for the network. He also covers various sporting events for FSN Rocky Mountain and VERSUS, as well as hosting a national sports talk show on Sporting News Radio. Before moving to Denver, Neverett called Las Vegas home, where his work included the UNLV football and baseball broadcasts, as well as work for Stars/51s baseball and Thunder hockey.
Sidney Green will handle the analyst duties for the broadcasts. Green holds the distinction of being the first Runnin' Rebel to have his jersey retired when it was raised to the rafters at the Thomas & Mack Center in 1994. A 1983 All-American, he is UNLV's second all-time leading scorer with 2,073 career points from 1979-83. He played in the NBA for 10 years and is a 1994 inductee of the UNLV Athletics Hall of Fame. After playing professionally, Green was a head coach at Southampton, North Florida and Florida Atlantic. He most recently was an assistant at Indiana.
Now in its second year as the exclusive multimedia rights holder for UNLV Athletics, ISP - America's Home for College Sports - is regarded as America's foremost collegiate sports marketing company and brings a national presence to the overall marketing of Rebel Athletics.
