FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Two Rebels competed for UNLV on Thursday on the first day of action at the 2008 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championship is being held from Thursday through Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
In the morning preliminaries, Johan Claar swam a time of 4:27.29 in the 500 free to finish in 42nd place. Devin Phillips meanwhile lowered his personal best in the 200 IM by touching the wall in 1:47.78, the second fastest time in school history, to place 37th.
