LAS VEGAS - In a battle for first place, the UNLV men's tennis squad lost its first Mountain West Conference match of the season, 5-2, to 31st-ranked TCU at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Saturday.
The Rebels fell to 8-9/2-1 while the Horned Frogs improved to 16-5/3-0.
TCU began the morning by winning all three doubles matches for one team point. In singles, the team's lone senior, David Campbell, celebrated senior day by winning 3-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-7) over Adrian Simon on court four. The Rebels' other point came at the bottom of the lineup where Andrew Giuffrida swept Jack Seider 7-5, 7-6.
Next up for UNLV is a final non-conference match vs. UC Irvine on April 5.
