TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's tennis won two singles titles on Sunday to close out a successful weekend during the team's first fall tournament action of the season.
 
Competing in the singles and doubles individual event at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center at the University of Arizona, five Rebels faced competitors from San Diego State, New Mexico, NAU, New Mexico State and the host Wildcats.
 
UNLV's contingent went a combined 10-3 in singles, including a perfect 4-0 on Sunday. The Rebels were led by senior Illia Maksymchuk winning his title match, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, over Arizona's Cole Stelse and sophomore transfer newcomer Michael Kouame downing Oskar Jansson of Arizona, 6-4, 6-2, to take his draw's crown.
 
"Winning not one but two singles tournament championships is certainly a great way to start the season," said head coach Andy Jackson.
