LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team will face the NCAA runners-up to start its 2027 dual season after landing in the Austin Regional of the ITA Kickoff Weekend.
 
The Rebels, who finished last season ranked 74th nationally, were part of Thursday's draft to determine the overall field and are the fourth seed at the annual event.
 
UNLV will open by playing top-seeded host Texas from the SEC on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2027. The Longhorns finished second in the nation after falling 4-3 in the championship final. The other match will see No. 17 San Diego face No. 66 Boise State. The event guarantees teams two matches apiece, with the winners advancing to face each other and losers also meeting on Sunday in the consolation bracket.
 
ITA kickoff Weekend is used to qualify teams for the ITA Indoor National Champions and features 56 of the nation's best teams in 14, four-team sites.
