LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis squad has again earned the designation of Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team while three individuals were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for 2026.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any school that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a letterwinner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
Earning that standing this year were
Joel Gibson,
Roberto Hernandez and
Vitaliy Horovoy.
In addition, Gibson and Horovoy just earned Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors as part of a department-record 163 UNLV student-athletes overall making the list. To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must have competed at least two semesters or three quarters at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.
