March 28, 2008

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Four Rebels just nearly missed out on earning All-American status on Friday night, as UNLV's 800 free relay was .04 seconds away from a 16th-place finish at the 2008 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. This year's championship is being held from Thursday through Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.

In the final event of the night, UNLV's team of Devin Phillips, Johan Claar, Tamas Bosnyak, and Calan Eldridge teamed up to swim a time of 6:40.16 to place 17th, right behind Louisville's time of 6:40.12.

In the morning preliminaries, Jonas Andersson swam a time of 54.22 to place 24th in the 100 breast.
