LAS VEGAS - The public is invited to attend the third annual UNLV Football Night of Champions, a free event on campus Wednesday night.

Signaling the symbolic end of Spring Practice for the Rebels, the event is slated to run from 5:00 p.m. to approximately 6:15 p.m., Night of Champions will pit eight teams of Rebel players in a series of non-football competitions at the Ernie Becker Sr. Fields at Bill "Wildcat" Morris Rebel Park.

Scored skill events include a sled push, sled pull, distance run, weight plate relay and the grand finale, Rebel Challenge obstacle course. The winning team will be recognized as 2008 Champions in the Lied Athletic Complex's Ernie Becker Sr. Strength and Conditioning Center for the next year.

"Bragging rights will be on the line and everyone on the team is fired up and looking forward to the events," says Director of Strength and Conditioning John Grieco. "It is a great way to wrap up spring football."

In 2007, Coach Keith Uperesa's won the title, beating out Coach Kris Cinkovich's group.
