TUCSON, Ariz. - UNLV sophomore Eddie Olson shot a final-round 1-under-par 70 and claimed the individual title at the 2008 Mountain West Conference Men's Golf Championship on Saturday, finishing three shots ahead of the field and tying the MWC Championship record for margin of victory. The tournament was played at the Catalina Course at Tucson National (par 71, 7,136 yards).

Olson finished the tournament with a 54-hole total of 4-under 209, while three golfers tied for second at 1-under. The win marks the first in Olson's career. His previous best career finishes were earlier this season when he was 10th at the Shoot-out at Angel Park in September, and 10th at the National Invitational Tournament in March.
