LAS VEGAS - No less than 10 UNLV players have been named to various preseason All-Mountain West Conference teams announced during the annual summertime publication of college football previews.

Junior wide receiver Ryan Wolfe (Santa Clarita, CA) is a unanimous choice for first team all-conference by Athlon, Lindy's, Phil Steele's, Sporting News and College Football News (CFN). Wolfe, who is the MWC's leading returning ball catcher (66 receptions in 2007), is also listed as the league's Most Dangerous Deep Threat by Lindy's.

Senior Casey Flair (Anchorage, AK) is a first team choice as punt returner by Athlon and Phil Steele's and second team pick at receiver by Athlon, Lindy's, Phil Steele's and CFN. Flair, who is only 35 catches away from breaking UNLV's career receptions record, was listed as having the Best Hands in the league for the second straight season by Sporting News.

The talented pair help give the Rebels the leading receivers unit in the conference according to Athlon and CFN.

Junior linebacker Starr Fuimaono (Chula Vista, CA) was a second team All-MWC pick by Lindy's, Phil Steele's and CFN while sophomore offensive lineman Matt Murphy (Lake Forest, CA) showed up on the second team for Athlon and Lindy's.

Four Rebels were on Athlon's third team: senior defensive lineman Jacob Hales (Las Vegas, NV), senior running back Frank "The Tank" Summers (Oakland, CA), sophomore defensive back Quinton Pointer (Cape Coral, FL) and sophomore defensive tackle Malo Taumua (Honolulu, HI ). Summers was also tabbed the league's Toughest Player to Bring Down and a member of the Top-10 NFL Talent list by Lindy's.
