LAS VEGAS - UNLV football's radio and television broadcasts, including the coaches shows, will begin their seasons this week as the Rebels kick off on Saturday vs. Utah State at Sam Boyd Stadium.
All 12 UNLV football games will be heard this fall on ESPN 1100 AM (KWWN) marking the 10th consecutive year that the Rebels are partnered with Lotus Broadcasting. UNLV's radio team is once again made up of KLAS TV-8 (CBS) morning new anchor Dave McCann returning play-by-play voice and former college and NFL star Mike Pritchard, who is in his third season as the school's analyst. Saturday's broadcast of the opener will begin with Rebel Warm-Up at 6:30 p.m. (PT).
Also, the UNLV ISP Sports Network has announced that it is welcoming a new affiliate in northern Nevada this season as radio station KHIT 1450 AM comes aboard. A sports station owned by Lotus Broadcasting, KHIT serves the Reno area and is beginning its first year of airing Rebel football and men's basketball games.
Fans outside of the Silver State can hear all the action through UNLV's official website unlvrebels.com as a subscription to Rebels All-Access is available for $6.95 per month or $49.95 a year.
"GAMETIME WITH UNLV FOOTBALL"
For the 14th consecutive season, "Gametime with UNLV Football" with host Dave McCann can be seen every Sunday on KLAS TV-8 (CBS). Regularly running at 11:30 p.m., the show features head coach Mike Sanford for an entertaining half-hour of game reviews, previews and an inside look at the team.
The show will also air earlier in the day on Las Vegas One (Cox Cable channel 19) at 9:30 p.m. Because of U.S. Open tennis coverage, "Gametime" will premiere Sunday, September 1 with a special 3:30 p.m. debut before settling into its 11:30 p.m. slot. Also, the series will be replayed on The Mtn. (Cox Digital Cable channel 334) starting on Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. and on Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT after Labor Day week. The debut episode will first air on The Mtn. on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 2:00 and then 10:30 p.m.
"Mike Sanford RADIO SHOW"
Mike Sanford's coach's radio show will air primarily on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. on ESPN 1100 AM. The second edition will air on Wednesday, Sept. 3 while the week 11 show will air on Tuesday, Nov. 11. UNLV football play-by-play radio announcer Dave McCann along with analyst Mike Pritchard will join Sanford each week during the season live from Findlay Toyota at the World Famous AutoMall in Henderson.
