LAS VEGAS - Following a rain out of the originally planned Alumni Game last Saturday, UNLV baseball has announced that there will not be an Alumni Game this year.

Because of the timing of the pending season and the availability of alumni, the Alumni game will not be rescheduled but rather will take place again next year on Feb. 6, 2010. Former players are encouraged to update their contact information at www.unlvrebels.com by going to the baseball page of the site and clicking on the "Attention Rebel Alumni" link on the right side of the page.

"On behalf of myself and the entire staff we would like to thank all those that made plans to attend this year's game and look forward to seeing everyone again next year," head coach Buddy Gouldsmith said. "I would like to thank the Back 9 Grill for their sponsorship of the event and for hosting us last Saturday."

The current edition of the Rebels opens their season at home against Maine on Feb. 20 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium at 7:00 p.m. (PT). Fan can purchase season tickets by calling (702) 739-FANS or by going to www.unlvtickets.com.
