WAHIAWA, Hawaii - The No. 21 UNLV men's golf team shot an even-par 288 during the second round of play on Thursday and fell to 12th place at the 33rd Annual John A. Burns Intercollegiate, which is being played at Leilehua Golf Course (par 72, 6,917 yards).

Arizona remained the team leader after a second-round 8-under 556. The Wildcats lead the field by six shots at 20-under 556. New Mexico is in second place at 14-under, while Texas A&M is in third at 12-under after shooting a second-round low of 10-under 278. Nevada, Reno, and Arkansas round out the top five at 11- and 10-under, respectively.

UNLV has a 36-hole total of 1-under 575 and is 19 shots off the lead. The field is comprised of 17 teams.

Arizona's Tarquin Macmanus also remained the individual leader after a second-round 2-under 70 and leads the field by two shots at 10-under 134. BYU's Jordan Hammer, who is competing as an individual, is in second at 8-under after also shooting 2-under Thursday.

UNLV junior Eddie Olson fired a second-round-low-tying 5-under 67 to charge into a fourth-place tie at 6-under 138, four shots off the lead. Olson is tied with three other players.

Other UNLV second-round scores, totals and places: junior Brett Kanda (73, even-par 144, T37th), freshman Derek Ernst (74, 2-over 146, T49th), sophomore Ji Moon (74, 7-over 151, T76th), freshman Colby Smith (78, 7-over 151, T76th) and junior Johnny Pinjuv (74, 13-over 157, 90th), who is competing as an individual.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Friday.
