LAS VEGAS - The UNLV Volleyball program has scheduled five camps throughout the summer for instruction ranging from elementary to high-school aged students and both boys and girls. The camps are specialized for either individual or team teaching. The camps will run during a two-week time period beginning on July 20 and ending on August 2.
Two camps run concurrently, as the "Youth Camp" takes place on July 20-22 (10:00 am to 3:00 pm), while the "Team Camp" runs July 20-24 (5:00-9:00 pm). The "Youth Camp" is intended for boys and girls in grades 2-8 and is devoted to skill instruction, team drills and competitive play. The "Team Camp" is dedicated to high school teams only and will feature a unique scoring drill and two nights of tournament matches.
The "High School Camp" is scheduled for July 23-26 (9:30 am to 3:30 pm) and is set up for high-school aged young adults in grades 9-12. This camp will utilize three courts divided by skill level and emphasis skill instruction, team drills and competitive play. Lunch is included in this camp.
The "All Skill Camp" is directed towards those boys and girls in grades 7-12 and is set for July 27-29 (9:30 am to 3:30 pm). It has the same setup and premise as the "High School Camp".
The final camp on the list is the "College Prep Camp", which is slated for July 30-August 2. This camp is broken down into two groupings, commuter and overnight, and focuses on position training, team drills and competitive games. The overnight camp includes three meals a day, while the commuter version includes lunch and dinner.
