UNLV continues its season-long homestand to open up the 2009 season by hosting Saint Peter's College in a four-game series at Earl E. Wilson Stadium that will consist of back-to-back doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Friday's double dip is slated for 3:00 p.m. (PT) and then 7:00 p.m., while Saturday's pair of contests are set for 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The Rebels play their first 14 games at home to open up the year, including playing four doubleheaders. All four games of the series will be streamed live and fans can also follow along via gametracker at www.unlvrebels.com.

REBELS AT A GLANCE

After winning its first three games of a season for the first time since 1992, UNLV has lost its last three following a two-game sweep at the hands of Arizona earlier this week and the Rebels are now 3-3 overall ... The Rebels opened the 2009 season by winning the first three of a four-game set against Maine at Earl E. Wilson Stadium ... In a pair of high-scoring games, UNLV lost to Arizona, 14-7 and 16-12 this past Tuesday and Wednesday ... Junior catcher Drew Beuerlein is off to a fast start, as he is hitting .529 (9-17) with two home runs and nine RBI to lead the Rebels at the plate ... Both home runs came in Sunday's game against Maine, as Beuerlein went 4-for-4 with the two home runs, two doubles and four runs scored, all career highs ... Freshman third baseman Trent Fuller hit his first career home run, a three-run shot on Wednesday against Arizona ... That was the third round tripper of the year for the Rebels ... On the mound freshman Tanner Peters made a strong debut, as the freshman gave up one run on five hits in six innings of work to earn the win in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Black Bears ... UNLV head coach Buddy Gouldsmith has a career record of 150-159 (.485) and is in his sixth season ... The Rebels open the season by playing their first 14 games at Earl E. Wilson Stadium, including four doubleheaders, which is the third-longest stretch to open the season in the nation.

PEACOCKS AT A GLANCE

Saint Peter's College is 1-3 following its season-opening series at Tennessee Tech and the two teams played a pair of doubleheaders ... The Peacocks lost the first three games of the series (8-1, 14-4 and 12-6) before winning the final game, 5-2, for their first victory of the season ... Connor Mullee is the Peacock's top hitter with a .294 (5-17) with one home run and five RBI in four starts ... Mullee hit a grand slam to lead SPC to its first victory of the year ... Dom Macaluso earned the win on the mound, working 5.2 innings and giving up two runs on five hits and striking out five ... The head coach of Saint Peter's College is Derek England and he is assisted by Ben Cueto, Tim Nagurka and Cory Thompson.

THE SERIES
