ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - UNLV won all 14 swimming events as the Rebels easily won its final meet of the regular season, 195-103 at New Mexico in Mountain West Conference women's swimming and diving action on Saturday afternoon. UNLV finishes the regular season with a 12-5 record, 5-3 in the league.
The Rebels would claim all 12 individual swiming events and swept both relays, with the lone two Lobos wins coming in the two diving events. UNLV had one triple event winner, with Zsuzsanna Jakabos taking first in the 200 fly (2:02.12), 200 back (2:02.69 and the 200 IM (2:05.85)
Also winning events for UNLV was Shawnee Landolt in the 1000 free (10:43.12), Friderika Szel in the 200 free (1:53.71), Amanda Weinbrecht in the 200 back (57.46), Kelsey Clarke in the 100 breast (1:06.81), Madison Rousell in the 50 free (24.20), Marva Harpak in the 100 free (52.38), Bailey Kuestermeyer in the 200 breast (2:23.03) and Matie Matulic in the 100 fly (58.30).
Weinbrecht, Clarke, Jakabos, and Harpak won the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:52.09, while Szel, Clark, Weinbrecht, and Harpak swam 3:32.59 to win the 400 free relay.
UNLV will next swim in the 2009 MWC Championships, held Feb. 25-28 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
