Final Stats

STILLWATER, Okla. - UNLV fell behind early and could not come back, losing to No. 17 Oklahoma State, 15-1, on Wednesday night at Reynolds Field, wrapping up a two-game midweek road series.

OSU scored a run in the bottom of the third to grab the lead, then scored three in the fourth, four in the fifth and five in the sixth in improving to 17-7 overall, while UNLV fell to 13-10 overall on the year. The Rebels got a run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run by Bryan Resnick, but the team had just seven hits the rest of the game. It was the second home run of the year for Resnick.

The Rebels had a great chance to do damage in the third, loading the bases with two outs on a pair of singles and a walk, but J.J. Sferra flew out to end the threat. Michael Goodman (1-1) took the loss for the Rebels, giving up four runs on five hits in three innings of work before turning it over to the bullpen, and four UNLV relievers finished out the game. Doug Kroll hit a pair of home runs and drove in six runs to lead the Cowboys, who had 13 hits in the game, and Tyler Lyons earned the win, working three scoreless innings and giving up two hits. Three other OSU pitchers were used on the evening.

UNLV continues its season-long, seven-game road trip by traveling to play Long Beach State in a three-game series that gets underway Friday at 6:30 p.m. (PT) at Blair Field, and continues Saturday and Sunday. The Rebels will then close out the swing by playing a pair of games at Cal State Northridge on Tuesday and Wednesday.
