2009 CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Teams 
LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball senior Bryan Resnick was named to the 2009 CoSIDA ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 First Team it was announced today, and the Rebel second baseman will now move on to the national Academic All-America ballot.
Resnick recently completed his master's degree in sports education leadership with a 3.82 GPA and has also earned his bachelor's degree cum laude in sports management with a 3.66 GPA. The native of Orange, Calif., has been the regular starting second baseman for the Rebels the past two years and was named to the Academic All-MWC team and a MWC Scholar-Athlete in 2008. He also was a member of the UNLV Dean's List last year.
Resnick was elected to the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society and was an Outstanding Undergraduate Major Award winner. This season he is hitting .339 (58-171) with five home runs, 29 RBI and 41 runs scored for UNLV, which is 25-24 overall on the year heading into this week's series at BYU.
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selects Academic All-America teams in 12 programs throughout the year. Players who are starters or important reserves on their teams and are at least in their second year at a school and hold at least a 3.30 career GPA are eligible for the academic awards, which are voted on by sports information directors from across the nation.
UNLV's district includes four-year institutions from the states of California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Idaho and Nevada.
