LAS VEGAS - The new UNLV Rebel Kids Club will celebrate the beginning of the 2009-10 sports seasons with the Rebel Kids Club Kickoff Party on Saturday, August 22, from 2-4 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion.

The event, which is for club members only, will have a registration table out front for new members to sign up if they haven't already joined the club online.

Rebel Kids Club members will be able to pick up their club t-shirt and membership card at the party and will also have the opportunity to meet and greet with student-athletes and coaches, get autographs and take photographs with the football, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer teams, as well as the UNLV Cheerleaders and Rebel Girls.

Club members are also invited to join Hey Reb and the Cheer and Dance teams, who will be helping to create a banner, which will be presented pregame at the football season opener against Sacramento State on September 5.

Free posters will also be handed out at the kickoff party, in addition to other items and coupons provided by the co-title sponsors of the Rebel Kids Club, NSR Business Solutions and Rapport Leadership International, and the associate sponsors Baja Fresh, Jason's Deli, Trader Joe's, Meadow Gold, Verizon and the Las Vegas Review-Journal. There will also be a raffle held for additional prizes.

Any child in the eighth grade and younger may become a member of the Kids Club for just $30. The membership package includes an official UNLV Rebel Kids Club T-Shirt, official UNLV Rebel Kids Club Membership Card, FREE admission into all UNLV ticketed athletics events and official newsletters, as well as an e-birthday card from Hey Reb.
