First Serve: The UNLV Rebels (1-6) remain at home in the Cox Pavilion with a single contest this week, as they open up Mountain West Conference play against Colorado State (7-3) Friday night (Sept. 18) at 7:00 pm. The match will be the sixth of seven consecutive at home in the second-longest home stand in program history.

When it comes to conference play, UNLV owns identical 8-7 records for league openers and first contests at home. Since joining the MWC in 1999, the Rebels hold 6-4 marks in both categories, as well.

Scouting Colorado State: The Colorado State Rams enter this week with a 7-3 overall record through the first three weekends of play. CSU began the year ranked #24 in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Poll, but quickly dropped out after going 1-2 its opening weekend with consecutive losses to Pepperdine and Oregon State before rebounding with a win over Cal Poly. The Rams have since rebounded by winning six of their last seven, which includes two different three-match winning streaks.

CSU is led offensively by Danielle Minch's 125 kills and 3.68 kills per set. Jacque Davisson follows closely behind Minch with 100 kills (2.94 kps) of her own. Evan Sanders leads the team in assists racking up 325 of the squad's 376 on the year.

Defensively, Katelin Batten is one of three Rams to amass 83 or more digs on the year, as she owns the team-high with 141 (4.15 dps). CSU has seven players with double-digits in blocks, but Tessa Nelson has nearly doubled her closest teammate's tally with 43 (two solo) of her own.

Historically speaking, CSU holds a 22-6 edge in the head-to-head series with UNLV dating back to 1996. Four of UNLV's six victories have come in the past four years, as the teams have split the last eight meetings. The Rebels have won the last three meetings in Las Vegas.

On The Sidelines: The Rebels close out its second-longest home stand in program history with their Sept. 22 (7:00 pm) contest against Wyoming in the Cox Pavilion. UNLV owns an 18-11 overall head-to-head record against Wyoming, as well as, owners of a six-match winning streak and nine consecutive in Las Vegas.
