SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving team dropped a non-conference dual meet at UC Santa Barbara on Saturday afternoon, both squads by identical 155-107 scores.
David Seiler paced the men's team by winning a pair of events, the 100 fly (49.99) and the 200 fly (1:51.03). Other winners included John Mendoza in the 1000 free (9:31.83), Kyle Virva in the 200 free (1:39.41), Andrew Morrell in the 200 breast (2:03.74) and Kier Maitland in the 500 free (4:35.95).
The Rebel women also had a double-event winner, with Ana Dangalakova touching the wall first in the 200 back (2:03.45) and the 400 IM (4:25.01). Three more Rebels won events on Saturday, with Marley Prothero swimming a time of 10:17.03 in the 1000 free, Lisa Gillespie winning the 100 breast (1:05.95) and Lara Sreibers placing first in the 500 free (5:03.36),
UNLV will close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 6 at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
