LAS VEGAS - New UNLV football head coach Bobby Hauck on Friday announced the hiring of Brent Myers as the program's tight ends coach.

The move means Dominic Daste, whose hiring was announced earlier this week, will move over to coach the Rebel running backs. UNLV now has one more full-time assistant coach position to fill, which will come on the defensive side of the ball.

Myers, who brings three decades of collegiate coaching experience to Las Vegas, spent the previous three seasons as offensive line coach and running game coordinator at the University of Louisville. Before joining the Cardinals he spent three seasons in the same position at Arizona State University of the Pac-10 Conference.

A veteran of eight bowl games, Myers also served one season as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at the University of Utah in 2003. He joined the Utes after spending three seasons as the offensive line coach at the University of Washington (2000-02). He was also the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Boise State (1998-99) and Myers' other stops included Northern Arizona (1992-97), Eastern Washington (1982-83, 1985-91) and Southern Illinois (1984).

A Seattle native, Myers was a Division II honorable mention All-America player at EWU in 1981 and earned his degree from the school in 1982.
