OWASSO, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team wrapped up second-round action at the Dale McNamara Invitational with a 19-over par round, leaving the Rebels in a tie for fourth place entering the final round at The Patriot Golf Club.
No. 20 Oklahoma remains in first place after a 3-over par round while NO. 24 Oklahoma State carded the low team round of the day at 2-over par to climb to second place, eight shots back from the Sooners. No. 41 Tulsa is 22 15 shots off the lead while the Rebels are tied with No. 33 Texas, 16 shots off the team lead.
Therese Koelbaek is three shots off the lead after a 2-over round of 74. After birdying the par-4 second to move to 4-under, Koelbaek recorded back-to-back bogey's on the third and fourth holes before rounding out the front nine with another bogey on No. 9. Koelbaek is tied for fifth entering the final round and has finished no worse than third this season through two tournaments this season.
Kristen Schelling continued to play steady golf, shooting a 3-over 75 today to move to 3-over par and in a tie for ninth in the tournament. Schelling rebounded from a three-bogey front nine to shoot even on the back.
Alejandra Guacaneme is tied for 33rd while Katerina Prorokova stands in a tie for 47th and Ellis Keenan in 53rd to round out the Rebel lineup.
The Rebels will tee off starting at 8:40 a.m. tomorrow morning.
