PROVO, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels (6-14, 2-5 MWC) lost 3-0 to the BYU Cougars (8-12, 3-3 MWC) Saturday night from Smith Field House in Provo, Utah. BYU took the match with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-23.
UNLV was out-hit by a .347 to .098 margin in the match. The Rebels hit below .000 the first two sets before hitting .361 in the third and final set. They threw down 33 kills on 102 swings, but also had 23 errors.
BYU, on the other hand, threw down 42 kills and only committed eight errors on 98 attempts. The Cougars hit above .258 in all three sets with two above the .367 mark.
Sara Nehf paced the Rebels with a match-high 11 kills and also contributed seven digs, three aces and two assists. Nehf has 10 aces on the year with seven coming in her last three outings.
Kendra Glendenning was the top setter for UNLV with 16 assists. Glendenning fell one dig shy of notching her third double-double of the year with nine digs.
Kela Lau Hee topped all Rebels in digs with 12.
The Cougars were led by Kiana Rogers, who tallied the match's only double-double. Rogers combined 32 assists and 13 digs for the feat, both of which were match highs.
Stephanie Snow hit an astonishing .786 for BYU. Snow smashed 11 kills without committing an error in 14 swings.
UNLV is back in action next weekend with back-to-back home matches against the San Diego State Aztecs and the UMKC Kangaroos on Saturday (Oct. 23) and Sunday (Oct. 24), respectively. Both matches are set for 1:00 pm first serves from the Cox Pavilion.
