WYOMING at UNLV GAME NOTES at Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas
Nov. 13, 2010

-UNLV broke a five-game losing streak by defeating Wyoming 42-16 to take a 10-9 all-time lead in the series between the two schools.

-Rebel true freshman running back Tim Cornett became the first UNLV player to score four touchdowns in one game (three rushing and one receiving) since RB/WR Henry Bailey had four (also three rushing and one receiving) vs. Central Michigan in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 15, 1994. Cornett had 70 net yards rushing on 21 carries, including scoring runs of seven, three and one, to go with a 12-yard TD reception. He leads the Rebels in scoring in 2010 with seven TDs, which is just one behind the UNLV freshman season record of eight set by WR Lenny Ware in 1996.

-UNLV won its first Homecoming since 2001 to improve to 22-21 all-time in Homecoming games.

-UNLV QB Omar Clayton's three touchdown passes moved the senior into second place on the school's career list with 44. He trails only Randall Cunningham, who had 59 from 1982-84.

-Clayton's 163 yards passing gave him a total of 5,989 for his career and he is now just 191 away from passing Jon Denton in second place at the school (6,177 from 1996-97). Cunningham leads the way with 8,020.

-Tight end Austin Harrington led the Rebels five receptions for 50 yards. It marked the third time in 2010 that the former walk-on and converted defensive end led or tied for the team lead in catches (three at West Virginia and six at Colorado State).

-QB Omar Clayton became the 17th Rebel to catch at least one pass in 2010. Clayton's first career grab was a 16-yarder thrown by WR Michael Johnson on a trick play in the first quarter.

-Marcus Sullivan, who came into the game ranked 13th in the nation in kickoff return average with 28.2, returned three kicks vs. the Cowboys for an average of 39.0 and total of 117 yards (18, 46 and 53 yards).

-UNLV ran for a season-high 197 net yards vs. Wyoming, besting the 185 vs. New Mexico. The Rebels also set a season high for first downs with 23 after having posted 19 twice this fall.

-UNLV senior LB Ronnie Paulo led all players with 10 total tackles.

-True freshman Eric Tuiloma out of Las Vegas made his first career start at safety in place of Mike Clausen.

-With Wyoming's opening play touchdown, all 10 of UNLV's opponents scored first in 2010.

-Phillip Payne's 21-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was the junior's first score since at Idaho on Sept. 18 but gave him 17 for his career, which ranks him fifth in school history, tied with Demond Thompkins.
