The UNLV men's basketball team defeated Utah (73-61) on Thursday night at the Thomas & Mack Center in the Mountain West Conference Tournament's quarterfinal round for its fifth straight win and its 10th victory in its last 13 games overall. The Runnin' Rebels, seeded third in the tournament, will now face No. 14/15 BYU (No. 2 seed) on Friday, March 12, at 8:30 p.m. in a semifinal matchup. The game will be broadcast on CBS College Sports in high definition with Tom Hart and Steve Lappas calling the action. The Rebel radio call will be handled by Jon Sandler and Robert Smith on ESPN Radio 1100 AM in Las Vegas. The game will also be available via audio streaming (monthly fee) and Gametracker (free) at UNLVRebels.com. The MWC Radio Network broadcast may be heard nationally on Sirius Satellite Radio (channel 90). UNLV and BYU split the season series with BYU winning in Provo (77-73) on Jan. 6, and UNLV winning in Las Vegas (88-74) on Feb. 6.
