UNLV-Long Beach State Game Notes 
LEADING OFF
UNLV (13-6, 0-0 Mountain West Conference) returns home for a three-game series with visiting Long Beach State (7-8, 0-0 Big West Conference), with the series getting underway Friday night at 7:00 p.m. (PT) at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The Rebels and Dirtbags will then play again on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., with the final game of the series taking place Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Friday night's game will be the first of 10 regular-season games that will be carried live on 1400 KSHP AM, with Bob Blum and Adam Candee calling the action. The series with LBSU wraps up a season-opening stretch for UNLV which will have featured 19 of its first 22 games coming at Wilson Stadium, and thus far on the year the Rebels are 12-4 at home this season. UNLV will be looking to get back on the winning track after losing in its last outing, a 13-7 defeat on the road at Cal State Northridge on Tuesday afternoon.
REBELS AT A GLANCE
UNLV saw its record fall to 13-6 after the Rebels fell behind early and could not rally, falling on the road at Cal State Northridge on Tuesday by a score of 13-7 ... The Rebels have played in three extra-inning games this season, starting with its season opener that went 11 innings, the first opener to go extras since the 2004 season opener, when UNLV lost at Cal State Fullerton, 9-8, in 11 innings on Feb. 6, 2004 ... Runs have not been hard to come by for the Rebels, as they have scored a total of 191 through 19 games, including 18 on Feb. 21 against Sacramento State and 22 against Temple on Feb. 26 ... UNLV is hitting .340 as a team, with 18 home runs, 48 doubles and 163 RBI ... Brandon Bayardi leads the UNLV regulars with a .400 (34-85) average, and the freshman is pacing the Rebels with nine doubles, 24 RBI and 23 runs scored ... Drew Beuerlein is hitting .483 (31-81) with eight doubles and 23 RBI, and he currently has a 13-game hitting streak going into the weekend ... R.J. Arnold leads the Rebels with five home runs this season ... UNLV closer Matt Hutchison is 2-0 with a 1.59 ERA and also has four saves in 10 appearances, striking out 18 and walking three in 11.1 innings of work ... Tanner Peters is 2-0 with a 5.26 ERA, and he leads the team with 41 strikeouts against just eight walks in 25.2 innings of work ... UNLV is in its seventh season under head coach Buddy Gouldsmith, who has a career record of 186-194 (.488), and his 186 victories are the second most in school history.

Long Beach State (7-8, 0-0 Big West) arrives in Las Vegas having won three of its last five, although in its latest trip to the diamond, the Dirtbags lost at Loyola Marymount, 6-4 ... This past weekend the Dirtbags took two-of-three from visiting Wichita State, dropping the series opener before winning the next two games ... LBSU is hitting .261 as a team, with two home runs and 56 RBI ... The leading hitter is Devin Lohman, who has a .327 average and four doubles ... Friday-night starter Andrew Gagnon is 2-1 with a 1.31 ERA ... The Dirtbags are coached by Mike Weathers, who is 288-182 in his ninth season at LBSU and 567-462-2 in his 10th year as a head coach.
