LAS VEGAS - The Football Rebels celebrated another great day of Las Vegas March weather Wednesday by turning in another spirited practice session at Rebel Park.

"Good practice today -- we went hard," said head coach Bobby Hauck. "The attention to detail was as good as it has been."

The quality meeting was good timing for a team heading toward its first official scrimmage of the spring, which is set for Friday at Rebel Park. Hauck said officials will be on hand for the situational session and said he is looking forward to getting a look at his team in the heightened action. Asked how much importance he puts in spring scrimmages, the former Montana head man had a two-word answer: "A lot."

Fans are invited to attend the scrimmage, which figures to get underway around 3:30 p.m. after team stretch and early drills are completed.

Friday will also mark the halfway point of spring ball and the Rebels will head into a week off during UNLV's spring break.
