Rebels To Hold Events Next Home Series

April 20, 2010

LAS VEGAS - UNLV baseball has announced that its upcoming three-game series against Air Force on April 30-May 2 at Earl E. Wilson Stadium will be Air Force Weekend and that Sunday's final game of the series will also be Kid's Day.

Air Force personnel from both Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases, and all veterans will be able to attend all three games for free, as they will simply need to show their military I.D. at the Wilson Stadium ticket office. Also, during Sunday's game UNLV will recognize veteran returnees from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Air Force Honor Guard and Nellis National Anthem singers will be at each game, and fans will enjoy promotions throughout all three games at Wilson Stadium as the Rebels play the Falcons in Mountain West Conference action.

Sunday will also be Kid's Day at the ballpark, and before the game there will be a baseball bounce house, raffles and drawings, and kids will also be able to take the field with the Rebels before the first pitch of the game. During the game there will be a dizzy bat race, dance contest and kids will sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch. Following the game, kids will be able to get autographs from their favorite Rebel player and run the bases.

UNLV is currently on a nine-game road trip that ends this weekend at nationally-ranked TCU, with a three-game series in Fort Worth, Tex., that gets underway Friday evening at 4:30 p.m. (PT). The Rebels are 21-15 overall on the season and 5-4 in MWC games, and fans can watch all three games of their series with the Horned Frogs on the Mtn. Friday's game will be tape delayed and the broadcast will begin at 6:30 p.m., while Saturday's and Sunday's games will be shown live.
