LAS VEGAS - The UNLV volleyball program will hold its Alumni Game on Aug.21 at 1:00 pm in the Cox Pavilion. The 2010 Rebels feature seven returning players from last year's edition, including four seniors: Sara Nehf, Kelsey Keeler, Jeralynn Makaiwi and Kela Lau Hee.
The Alumni Game will be the first live action the squad will face after beginning practice on Aug. 9. The team begins its 2010 campaign on Aug. 27 with a pair of contests in a tournament hosted by Long Beach State (Aug. 27-28). The Rebels will open with an 11:00 am bout with St. Mary's before facing the host 49ers later that day at 7:00 pm.
UNLV will play one more tournament on the road in Corvallis, Ore., hosted by Oregon State on Sept. 3-4, before returning to the friendly confines of the Cox Pavilion.
After playing six consecutive contests on the road, the Rebels will play eight straight at home. The squad will play three apiece in the UNLV Invitational (Sept. 18-11) and UNLV Classic (Sept. 17-18) before opening conference play at home against Air Force (Sept. 24). The final home match will pit UNLV against in-state rival Nevada, Reno on Sept. 27.
