CAMP REBEL (UNLVRebels.com) - In what most observers agreed was the most rigorous single practice to date under new head coach Bobby Hauck, the UNLV football team battled for three hours under an intense sun on Sunday.
Day 10 of Camp Rebel saw a team session overflowing with non-stop personnel changes and just a few precious seconds between plays.
"I was just talking about it with the team," Hauck told the media following practice. "Some guys are fighting through it right now and getting better and some guys are just surviving right now. We need to get everyone going at the same (effort) level."
Asked about some players missing field time in what is the middle of camp, Hauck said it's to be expected.
"No one is 100 percent right now and no one will be until next August. Guys get banged up and you expect them to fight it off."
UNLV returns to the field Monday for a pair of practices starting at 9 a.m. and then 3:30 p.m. The team returns to Las Vegas on Saturday after camp's one and only scrimmage.
