LAS VEGAS - UNLV senior Jana Albers was the named Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in her career, the league announced Wednesday.

The native of Papenburg, Germany, went a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles play last weekend to help No. 29 UNLV move to 3-0 on the season. She won three singles matches and two of three doubles matches vs. New Mexico State, Weber State and Pacific.

Next up, Albers and her team travel to Palo Alto, Calif., for this weekend's annual ITA Kickoff Weekend Playoff. The Lady Rebels open with a match vs. No. 39 Oklahoma at 2 p.m. Friday. The winner of that match will then take on the winner of the match between top-ranked host Stanford and 65th-ranked Cal Poly.
