PALO ALTO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) - The 29th-ranked UNLV women's tennis team lost for the first time this season as it was upset 4-1 by No. 39 Oklahoma in Friday's first round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend Playoff at Stanford's Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

After morning fog pushed back the day's schedule, which ultimately delayed the match for over an hour, the Lady Rebels (3-1) seemed equally as hazy in doubles play as the Sooners cruised to three easy wins.

Moving to singles play, UNLV saw its two freshmen turn in quality performances as Aleksandra Josifoska won 6-1, 7-5 over Alice Radu at the second position and 41st-ranked Lucia Batta was just one game way from earning a win at the top of the lineup when her match was halted.

OU had won in straight sets on court three and then pulled out three-setters on courts five and six that clinched the victory and ended the day's proceedings.

Next up, UNLV will face No. 65 Cal Poly on Saturday in the consolation round of the event. The Mustangs lost to top-ranked host Stanford 4-0 on Friday.
