LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - All five of UNLV's remaining singles entries and one of two doubles teams were eliminated on Thursday at the 2011 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Men's Tennis Championships, which are being held at the Darling Tennis Center.

The only Rebels still alive in the main draw of the event is the fourth-seeded doubles team of Alex Bull and Rene Ruegamer, which is ranked 43rd in the nation and won its second-round match over Idaho's Abid Akbar and Jose Bendeck, 8-6.

In singles play, Ruegamer, Tamas Batyi and Bull all won their second-round match in the morning before being eliminated later in the day. Also, UNLV's Willie Sublette moved on in singles consolation play after winning by default on Thursday.

The tournament runs through Sunday. More than 100 men's collegiate tennis players are competing as one of the 24 USTA/ITA Regional Championships for NCAA Division I men and women taking place over these last two weekends of October at campuses throughout the country. The singles and doubles champions from the regionals will advance to the 2011 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, taking place November 3-6, at the indoor facilities at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
