LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's remaining main-draw doubles team and two consolation singles entries were ousted Friday from the 2011 USTA/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Regional Men's Tennis Championships, which are being held at the Darling Tennis Center.
The fourth-seeded doubles team of Alex Bull and Rene Ruegamer, which is ranked 43rd in the nation, lost 8-5 in the third round to BYU's 10th-seeded Francis Sargeant and Spencer Smith. In the singles back draw, Willie Sublette fell 6-1, 6-7, 6-1 to Sargeant and Charlie Alvrarado lost to Kieren Thompson of Arizona, 6-2, retired.
The tournament runs through Sunday. UNLV will close out its fall tournament schedule by hosting the Larry Easley Memorial Classic next Friday through Sunday.
