LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team will travel to Adelanto, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 29 for a rare fall game against the University of San Diego at Maverick Stadium.
The Rebels will take a break from inter squad action for a fall contest with the Toreros, hosted by the City of Adelanto and the High Desert Mavericks, High A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.
"This is a great opportunity for both teams to take a break from the repetitive inter squad scrimmaging that goes on during fall ball," said second-year head coach Tim Chambers. "The game will allow us to gauge where we are at the end of fall ball and what we need to work on when we come back to open spring practice before the regular season kicks off."
The game, which will not count towards either teams' record for the 2012 season, is slated for a 1:30 p.m. first pitch and will be preceded by a youth clinic where participants will be taught fundamental baseball skills by coaches and players from both teams.
The event is free of charge but tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained at Maverick Stadium or Adelanto City Hall. A limited amount of tickets will be available on the day of the clinic/game. For more information, call the Mavericks ticket off at (760) 246-6287.
