ALBUQUERQUE (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV's Madeline Westman was named to the 2011 Mountain West All-Conference Team, as selected by the league's eight head coaches, announced tonight at the MW Championship Awards Dinner at the Student Union Dining Ballroom on the campus of the University of New Mexico.

Westman, a sophomore from Wauconda, Ill., led the Rebels in hitting (.323), total blocks (62) and assisted blocks (50) in conference play. She finished second on the squad in kills (135) and solo blocks (12). In 14 league matches, she threw down at least five kills 13 times and hit .250 or better in 12 outings. For the year, she led the team in all three blocking categories and hitting efficiency (.300) this season.

Her 2011 blocking numbers have placed her in all three single-season categories in UNLV's record book. She ranks fifth in assisted blocks (100), seventh in solo blocks (22) and eighth in total blocks (122). She has already placed her name in the career book, as well.

The Colorado State Rams, who went 12-2 in MW play to earn their third-straight conference title, claimed three of the four awards handed out by the league. Katelyn Steffan was named the MW's Player of the Year, while teammate Deedra Foss was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year. CSU's Tom Hilbert was voted the Coach of the Year for the eighth time in the MW's 13-year history.

TCU's Stephanie Holland earned the final league award, and was chosen as the Freshman of the Year.
