TCU Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Off to its best start in the last 11 years, the UNLV baseball team will open Mountain West Conference action this weekend, hosting 9th-ranked TCU for a three-game set at Wilson Stadium.
First-year head coach Tim Chambers and the Rebels have yet to lose a weekend series this year and have swept three of four played.
The weekend series will feature the top two teams in the MWC and several of the conference's most dominant pitchers so far this season. Friday night's matchup features two pitchers with identical 4-0 records and 0.00 ERA's in UNLV's ace Tanner Peters and TCU's Kyle Winkler. Saturday night will pit Joe Robinson (3-0) against arguable the nation's top arm in lefty Matt Purke (2-1). Sunday will feature UNLV's Tyler Iodence (3-0, 1.67 ERA) and Steven Maxwell (1-0, 3.75 ERA).
First pitch Friday night is slated for 6:05 p.m. at Wilson Stadium.
