BYU (-8) currently has a two-stroke lead over Oklahoma while Pepperdine sits in third at 3-under. Idaho is in fifth place, just one shot back of the Rebels while just three shots separate seven of the 10 remaining teams in the field.
"I thought the girls played well throughout the day today," said head coach Amy Bush. "Katerina has been playing well this spring and Therese is always going to be near the top of the leader board, but I was pleased with our overall team score today and know that tomorrow we have a chance to go out and improve."
Kelsey Vines (BYU) shot the low-round of 66 and holds a one stroke lead over Oklahoma's Ellen Mueller (-5). Chirapat Jao-Javanil (Oklahoma) is in third at 4-under while Teo Poplawski (Idaho) is fourth at 3-under and UNLV's Therese Koelbaek and Emily Copier (BYU) stand tied for fifth after shooting 2-under par for the day.
Koelbaek started off the 10th and played the back nine at 1-under par. Bogey's at the first and third hole dropped her to 1-over before she rallied to birdie three of the final four holes on the day. Katerina Prorokova stands tied for 14th after an even-par round of 72. The freshman made up for a double bogey that started her back nine by sinking birdies on the par-4 third and par-5 ninth.
The Rebels will continue action tomorrow with first tee time starting at 7:30 from Boulder Creek Golf Club.
