UC Riverside Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Fresh off a series victory over Sacred Heart University this past weekend, the UNLV baseball team will kick off this week's action with a midweek game at UC Riverside on Tuesday, April 12th.
The Rebels (22-12, 2-6 Mountain West) battled from behind in all three wins this past weekend to improve to 17-6 on the year at home and 20-6 in non-conference games.
Sophomore Brandon Bayardi became the second Rebel this season to earn Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors following his 7-for-12 performance from the plate in three games against SHU. Bayardi upped his conference-leading home run and RBI totals to 10 and 35 respectively after two, three-run homers and nine RBI over the weekend. The Phoenix, Ariz. native is currently tied for fourth nationally in home runs.
Righty Cory Ginther will make his first start of the season against the Highlanders. Ginther is 0-0 in five appearances with a 4.50 ERA in four innings of work this season.
First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m. in Riverside, Calif. at the Riverside Sports Complex.
