BYU Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team will resume Mountain West Conference action this week, hosting rival BYU in a three-game series at Wilson Stadium beginning Thursday night.
The Rebels (22-13, 2-6 Mountain West) are coming off a 6-5 loss Tuesday night at UC Riverside. The game marked the fifth time this season that the Rebels have fallen on a Tuesday.
BYU (17-12, 5-3 Mountain West) stands in second place in the MWC entering this week. The Cougars are coming off a series win over Air Force and have won eight of their last 10 games played, including posting a 4-1 mark in conference games.
Tanner Peters (5-2) will take the hill Friday looking to rebound from last Friday's 6-3 loss to Sacred Heart. Peters ranks among the nation's top 25 in wins, strikeouts and ERA and has thrown three complete games to date this season.
Thursday night's game is set for a 7:05 p.m. start at Wilson Stadium.
