Southern Utah Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV baseball team will wrap up its current five-game road trip with a visit to Cedar City, Utah for a Tuesday afternoon game against Southern Utah University.
The Rebels (25-17, 4-10 Mountain West) are coming off a tough three-game series last weekend at No. 7 TCU in Texas. The Horned Frogs took all three tightly contested games from the Rebels, marking the second time this season UNLV has been swept by a Mountain West Conference opponent on the road.
UNLV will look to make it two Tuesday wins in a row come Tuesday afternoon. The Rebels were 0-5 in Tuesday contests until a 7-4 win over Baylor in Waco, Texas last week snapped the streak and improved their non-conference record to 21-7 on the year.
Cory Ginther (0-0, 5.11 ERA) will make his third start of the season against the Thunderbirds. Ginther started last Tuesday's game at Baylor, throwing 4.1 innings and striking out two while scattering four hits and limiting the Bears to two runs.
First pitch Tuesday afternoon is set for 2 p.m. PT at Thunderbird Stadium.
