San Diego State Game Notes
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Rebels baseball team will conclude the regular season with a three-game set starting Thursday night against San Diego State University at Wilson Stadium.
The Rebels (32-21, 9-11 Mountain West) are coming off a 10-9 loss to UC Riverside Tuesday night, but have won each of their last two conference series', sweeping New Mexico at home April 29-May 1 before taking two of three from Air Force in Colorado May 13-15.
ESPN Radio 1100 with Dave Cokin and Steve Cofield will broadcast their daily afternoon show live from Wilson Stadium beginning at 3 p.m. and continuing until 5 p.m. in front of the press box.
UNLV will host several festivities this weekend, starting with the Touch Base promotion with new Runnin' Rebel basketball coach Dave Rice. Coach Rice and new associate head coach Justin Hutson will be throwing out ceremonial first pitches and be on hand prior to the start of the game for a meet and greet with fans. The first 400 fans in attendance will receive a collectable Hey Reb Beanie Baby.
Friday night's game is being billed as Family Fun Night with the UNLV Alumni Association. A pregame tailgate party is free to the first 300 people. Fans are strongly encouraged to RSVP with Jason Roth at (702) 895-5585 or jason.roth@unlv.edu. The tailgate party includes tickets to the 7:05 p.m. PT game, dinner and prizes.
Saturday afternoon's series finale will mark the final home game for eight senior Rebel players. A special pre-game presentation will take place prior to the 1:05 p.m. PT start time and head football coach Bobby Hauck will be on hand to throw out the first pitch. Tickets to the 1:05 p.m. PT game are 2-for-1.
