Washington State Game Notes

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com)
- The UNLV baseball team will begin a six-game roadtrip this weekend with a three-game set at Washington State University.

The Rebels (28-18, 7-10 Mountain West) are coming off a three-game series sweep over New Mexico last weekend, limiting the Lobos to just five runs over the weekend. Joe Robinson (5-4, 4.93 ERA) earned Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week honors after tossing a complete-game, one-hitter in Saturday night's 4-1 win.

Coming off his fifth complete-game win of the season, Friday night ace Tanner Peters (7-3, 1.45 ERA) will kick off the series for UNLV against the Cougars. Peters was his usual self in last week's 8-0 win, scattering six hits while striking out five and walking just one. He surpassed 250 career strikeouts in the win and improved to 7-3 on the season.

Trent Cook leads the Rebel offense, entering the weekend series with a .398 batting average and in the midst of a 21-game hitting streak, the fifth longest active streak in the nation. Cook is batting .444 during his hit streak with 21 RBI and eight extra-base hits.

First pitch Friday night is slated for 7 p.m. at Bailey-Brayton Stadium.
