Annual Alumnae Match Set For Aug. 20

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV volleyball program will hold its annual Alumnae Game on Saturday, Aug. 20, at 1:00 pm in the Cox Pavilion and the event is free to the public. The 2011 Rebels feature six letterwinners from last year's campaign, including returning starters Amanda Alles, Candice Thomas, Madeline Westman and Sekola Falemaka.

The match will be the first live action the squad will face after beginning practice on Aug. 9.

Some of the alumnae participating in Saturday's match will be: Angela Sylvas Vetter, Danielle Ceci, Kristin Koochi, Nicki King, Jeanette Graves Page and Christel Eves Stearman.

The regular season kicks off next weekend (Aug. 26-27) in Greeley, Colo., at Northern Colorado's Hampton Inn & Suites Classic. UNLV will face Colorado (11:00 am MT) and Northern Colorado (6:00 pm MT) on Friday before closing out the tournament with a single match vs. UC Davis at noon on Saturday.
