After a very successful non-conference season, in which UNLV posted a 12-4 mark, already surpassing last year's win total, the Lady Rebels are now ready to open Mountain West conference play when it visits Wyoming on Wednesday night with a 6 pm (PST) tip-off at Arena Auditorium.

UNLV and Wyoming tied for fifth place in the MW preseason poll, but the teams have taken different paths, as the Lady Rebels currently stand as one of the league favorites, while the young Cowgirls stand at 4-9 on the season. Wyoming has won the last four games in the series though, while UNLV is looking for its first win in Laramie since the 2008-09 season.
The Lady Rebels are 5-7 all-time in MWC openers, and is 2-4 when the opening contest is on the road. This is the second time that UNLV has opened the league season against Wyoming, the last time was on Jan. 5, 2006, a 65-56 UNLV win in Las Vegas.
Jamie Smith is bidding to become the second player in conference history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, coming in needing just 13 points to reach the mark.
